Suzanne Collins creates a picture of Katniss Everdeen being very selfish during the end of the last book Mockingjay mostly by showing how everyone should pity her. Katniss has lost almost everyone dear to her and can no longer be the same person she once was. The girl who was on fire had lost her flame and the room that was once so full of light was now in an eternal darkness. Yet she still awaits for pity on her soul, the pity she does not get. Not everything is about Katniss, she needs to realize that she isn't the only one who has lost things that hold much importance.
Katniss acts as if everything is about her, as if she is the main character (which she is). Even so, she acts as if no one else has lost anything. Peeta has lost his family and can hardly remember if any of his memories were real or fake after the hijacking. Katniss's mother has lost not only her husband, but her 12 year old daughter Primrose. Then there's Katniss, who had lost her father, her little sister, Rue, Cinna, Finnick and many more. All of them had died because of her, the Mockingjay. Without realizing that many had lost the same things as she did, only she searches for pity.
I feel that Katniss needs to open up to the world around her. Everyone has lost something, at least one thing that is precious to them. Thats just selfish, to want pity for yourself when you know that your not the only one who has lost something.

Just Stand By Me, And Everything Will Be Alright
* Sorry I did not post a blog post last week, I was very sick. However, I will make up that blog post by doing it over the weekend, just giving you guys a heads up.
Stand By Me is a story about four young friends around the age of 13, (Geordie, Chris, Teddy and Vern) going on an adventure looking for the dead body of another young boy their age. The journey really changes them and opens their eyes to who they really are and what they want to be. At first, the reason behind going to see the dead boy was so that people wouldn't look down on them (Mostly their families)/ be proud of them. But then, it changed whenthe fire nation attacked they realized that there is no personal gain from finding a dead boy body. The journey made them realize that only they themselves can become noticed for who they really are by doing the thing they love most.

At first, the reason behind going to see the dead boy was so that people wouldn't look down on them (Mostly their families)/ be proud of them. But then, it changed when
In the beginning of Stand By Me, the four boys were dying to go see the boys dead body so that they could become "famous". In the end, though, the four boys were a little shaken up from seeing the dead body, especially for Geordie because it triggered some bad memories of the past. However, It helped them realize that finding something that people have been looking for for a long time doesn't get you anything but thanks. It's showing people that your not like everyone else and your special that gets you to be admired. Another thing that sometimes, you want to get out of some place and go somewhere where no one know you, but all you have to do is stay strong to what people say, because you know the truth, not them.
All in all, you choose who you want to be, no matter what anyone says. Ignore the people that don't know the real you, they know nothing, have no idea what it's like to be you. Just hold your head up high and stand by someone, because everything is going to be alright.
